Gemini

Usually, in Hungarian birth registers written in Latin twins are calles gemini
or gemelli (diminutive) if boys and geminae or gemellae if girls.

But here it is uterini for these boy twins. It means all the same. This word comes from uterus.

But be aware! In the description of family trees we often meet "fratres carnali et uterini" This does not mean twins, but full brothers, i.e. born from the same father and mother, literally translated brothers of flesh and uterus.

We wish you the best of luck in your research,

P.S. Have you found some Hungarian, Latin or German text and you don't know if it is worth translating? Let us make its abstract! You can learn who, when, where has written it, about what and to whom, so you can decide whether you need it translated. You can read the details on our webpage http://historiatranslation.com/abstract/.
